The Founder of Our Tradition
Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. Born and trained in Tibet, he engaged in meditation retreat in India for many years and is now regarded as a modern day Buddhist master. In 1977, following the advice of his own Spiritual Guide, Kyabje Trijang Dorjechang, Geshe Kelsang accepted a request to come to the UK to teach.
Geshe Kelsang has written 22 highly acclaimed books on Buddhism and meditation which present Buddha’s teachings in a way that everyone, regardless of nationality, age or gender, can put into practice in their daily lives. He shows how we can solve the problems we face in modern life through the simple, practical methods taught by Buddha and begin to experience lasting happiness and inner peace.
